Discovering One Health Lessons

These engaging age-appropriate lessons are designed to teach students in a way that is appropriate for their age. The minimum age is 6 and that lesson focuses on the One Health concept (i.e. the interconnection between public health and the health of animals, plants and the environment). All other lessons cover the One Health concept and the One Health approach (teamwork between people of different backgrounds, disciplines and strengths to prevent and solve health problems).

Each lesson covers 9 United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and several US Next Generation Science Standards, as listed in the slide notes of the first slide. Classroom teachers are encouraged to complete an optional survey, after the lesson is taught, to ensure that we are delivering the best possible educational material that meets the needs of their classrooms.
